When does the spread come out for the week?  Does the spread move and when is it final?  May I set my own odds? The pool is set up for deadlines on Sunday.  What happens later in the season when there are Saturday games?  If a person forgets to get in his picks, and is given all favorites, and I have the tiebreaker as the points for the last game, what happens with the tiebreaker points for the person who got all favorites?

Hi Edward,

  • The spread usually comes out Tuesday AM, however for the first week the spread will come out soon. Spreads are pulled from Covers.com, using the consensus spread.
  • If the line moves by MORE THAN ONE POINT, it is updated (which is seldom, since lines are pretty stable by Tuesday AM). So its important to know that if you use the spread in your pool, some players may get a different spread. The line is never "final"  until the start of the game.
  • There is not yet a feature to allow you to set your own odds.
  • You can configure your deadline from your league settings page. The default is Sunday at 11am MST. Games before this serve as their own deadline, once a game starts you can't pick the game (it gets greyed out on the Picks sheet).
  •  The auto-pick tie-breaker is 40.

what happens if two teams have the same tie breaker and we are not using confidence?

Sorry for not being clear.

In my league we are not using confidence.

We are just using spread, so hypothetically if two players go to the tiebreaker and have the same value for the tie breaker.  what determines the winner of the week?

Gotcha. The default tie breaker configuration for weekly winners is first the tie-breaker game, then best Strength of Victory for the week, then Overall winning %.  See the bottom of the rules page here. Note that your manager can change the order of these tie-breakers, so to know which is the actual tie-breaker sequence for your league, check your league settings (Settings -> League Settings).
