Setting up multiple picks each week

Hi,

As a solution for a logjam of teams remaining toward the end of the season, you suggested (and I like) the idea of requiring 2 picks in a week to weed out survivors.  I am wondering, if I set a week and a threshold for a number teams remaining, would the league typically revert to 1 pick per week if a mojority of survivors get knocked out?  For example, if I have 20 survivors say in week 13 and initiated the 2 pick rule and then 14 survivors get knocked out, would we revert to 1 pick for the remaining 6 survivors?  Or would it stay at 2 picks for the remainder of the season?  

Also, what is a typical threshold for a number of teams that would invoke the 2 pick rule and at what week?

Hi Ray... Its totally up to you which weeks you want to require two picks and when to set it back to one. When you set it to two it will stay that way unless you switch it back. If you do switch it to two picks from one, or back from two picks to one, be sure to do it before players can start making picks. An ideal day to do this would be Monday (or after your league deadline but before the start of the next week). 

Most managers who go to two picks just let it ride out the rest of the season. I'm not sure what threshold managers use, it would vary year to year but I'd say the most common week to switch to two pick rule is week 13.
